What the AllFileGo server does
The devices need a place to meet. AllFileGo creates the room, forwards the receiver's request, and exchanges the browser messages needed to build a direct connection. A STUN service helps the browsers find reachable network addresses. Neither service stores the file.
AllFileGo keeps short-lived room and connection information while the devices pair. It does not store file contents, file names, or a downloadable copy.
What stays on the devices
The sender's browser reads the selected files only after the receiver is approved. File names, folder paths, sizes, fingerprints, and file data then travel over the approved browser connection.
The receiving browser may keep incoming data in private temporary storage until the file is verified. This storage is on the receiving device, not on AllFileGo, and is removed if the transfer stops or fails.
What a direct connection can still reveal
The file connection is encrypted, but the transfer is not anonymous. The service, devices, hosting providers, and network operators may still see IP addresses, connection times, and the amount of encrypted traffic.
An approved receiver can keep or forward the file. Encryption protects the file while it travels, but it cannot control what the receiver does after saving it.
Why a direct connection may fail
AllFileGo currently does not use TURN relay servers. This keeps file data away from AllFileGo relay infrastructure, but some firewalls, mobile networks, VPNs, and router settings can block the connection. In that case, the transfer stops instead of sending the file through a relay.
